Established in 1992 as a consulting and field support firm, today it includes full engineering and manufacturing capabilities. These range from full ground up ROV and Submersible builds to complex shipboard systems integrations. Making a difference is a core value for DOER. To that end, the Deep Ocean Explore Store @DOER Marine was opened during the pandemic at a time when people were eager to explore closer to home. Since that time, the community has come to rely on this public facing space as a resource for ocean education and dive training. The core business continues to grow with clients that include many universities, private vessel owners, first responders, commercial diving firms, nonprofits, film makers, and governments. The company has been recognized with innovation awards from the East Bay EDA and Wings Worldtrust.

We started with manipulator arms as our base product when we first started our company. Since then we've steadily grown our operations to include ROVs, submersibles, material testing, and consulting. By continuing to push the envelope and stay on top of ground breaking research, we've been able to grow our range of products, services and knowledge. We embrace modularity and simplicity where possible, but also implement cutting edge sensor technology where the opportunity arises.

At DOER Marine's dive shop, ocean conservation is a core mission, integrated into every aspect of our operations. The shop promotes sustainable diving practices, educating divers on the importance of protecting marine ecosystems. Through partnerships with local conservation organizations, the dive shop actively participates in reef cleanups and marine life preservation initiatives. By combining adventure with environmental stewardship, DOER Marine’s dive shop ensures that exploring the underwater world also contributes to its preservation.
By using a time tested process of setting our clients first, we can discover, design, prototype, finalize designs, and execute vehicles and services that meet the needs of all our clients.
Our first step is to meet with our clients to get an understanding of their needs. Whether they need help with manufacturing, consulting services, or vehicle work, we use this time to gather the necessary information to get the job done.
Using the information that we've gathered we begin to design the right kind of services, support, or vehicle. All of our designs meet the highest thresholds of quality and have feedback from our client.
Once a design is created, we prototype it to find any flaws that may affect the performance of our products. Often times we find that taking the time to prototype before building ends in lower costs.
After testing a prototyping is done, we come back to the design and finalize it with all of the learnings that we have uncovered. All builds are unique and we always love learning from the challenges we face with every new build.
Turning over a completed project is one of our favorite parts of our process. As a sustainability focused company, we take pride in knowing that all of our products are helping to create awareness of the ocean and the deep.
